Privacy

Your files stay on your PC.

Online converters ask you to upload a copy of your file. That puts your photos, documents and their hidden details on a server you don't control.

Uploading adds risk

Once a file leaves your PC, you have to trust how someone else stores and deletes it.

OrbitDrop never uploads

Every conversion runs on your PC, even offline. No account, no tracking.

Originals stay put

Results are new files next to the original. Nothing is overwritten.

Questions

Is it really free?

Yes. No trial, no ads, no account. It's open source, too.

Which Windows versions?

Windows 11, and Windows 10 version 2004 or later, 64-bit.

Does it change my files?

Never. Every result is a new file next to the original, with a new name if one already exists.

Does it need the internet?

No. Everything runs on your PC. The Microsoft Store keeps it up to date.

Where is it when I'm not using it?

In the notification area next to the clock. Click it for Settings and the guide.
